Las Copas Team of the Week – Lakota East Girl’s Varsity Tennis

Brooke Faxon Brooke Faxon is a junior and 2 year varsity member of the Lakota East Tennis Team.  She is a great example of a “team” player in an individual sport, playing whatever position needed to help earn a victory for the team.  Her sportsmanship and positive attitude is appreciated by her teammates and coaches.

Girls Tennis Falls to Sycamore

In a closely contested match against the #2 team in the city, East fell to Sycamore 2-3 on Tuesday. The Hawks would not miss their opportunities at 2nd singles and 1st doubles. Thunderhawk Paige Silverberg stayed consistent and strong as she worked her points defeating the Aves’ Jamie Pescovitz 6-4, 6-3 at 2nd singles.  

Girls Tennis Advances to Southwest District Semi-Finals.

For the second time this season the tennis Hawks faced Walnut Hills, this time in the 3rd round of the OTCA State Team Southwest District tournament last Friday. Once again, East tennis walked away with a 4-1 victory and advanced to the semi’s of the district tourney. Maddy Mueck and Paige Silverberg continue to lead

In a 3 hour marathon match against #1 D II Indian Hill, Lakota East lost a heartbreaker to the Braves 1-4 on Monday.
