Brooke Faxon Brooke Faxon is a junior and 2 year varsity member of the Lakota East Tennis Team. She is a great example of a “team” player in an individual sport, playing whatever position needed to help earn a victory for the team. Her sportsmanship and positive attitude is appreciated by her teammates and coaches.
In a closely contested match against the #2 team in the city, East fell to Sycamore 2-3 on Tuesday. The Hawks would not miss their opportunities at 2nd singles and 1st doubles. Thunderhawk Paige Silverberg stayed consistent and strong as she worked her points defeating the Aves’ Jamie Pescovitz 6-4, 6-3 at 2nd singles.
For the second time this season the tennis Hawks faced Walnut Hills, this time in the 3rd round of the OTCA State Team Southwest District tournament last Friday. In a 3 hour marathon match against #1 D II Indian Hill, Lakota East lost a heartbreaker to the Braves 1-4 on Monday.
