Two GMC golf powerhouses battled it out at the OHSAA Sectional tourney at Walden Ponds on Monday. The Thunderhawks totaled 326 strokes to place second behind Mason’s 320 as the Greater Miami Conference rivals dominated the sectional. Boys Golf Adds Another Sectional Title

The postseason moves on for the Lakota East Boys Golf team. On Tuesday at The Vineyard Golf Course, the Hawks captured their 4th straight Sectional Championship and advancing them in the next step to a possible state berth. East outlasted GMC counterpart, Mason, with a team score of 298 to the 2nd place Comets 302.

Janna Stephens Earns Special Officials Award

Congratulations to Lakota East Head Girls Volleyball Coach Janna Stephens for being named the recipient for Outstanding Service from the Ohio Valley Volleyball Association.  The special honor is voted by the officials in the Greater Cincinnati area.  She will be honored along with the Top Player and Support Crew at a dinner this Sunday evening

The Lakota East men struggled from a bad start and a pace-vehicle error at Hilliard Bradley this weekend.  The Thuderhawks were caught up in the bottleneck early in the race and then the pace vehicle cut the race ½ mile short which didn’t leave enough time for East to make up any ground.  The Hawks

Girls Volleyball Sweeps Tri-Match

Lakota East Women’s volleyball brought home two victories this weekend, beating Fairmont 25-12 and 25-13 and beating Fenwick 15-25, 25-14, 25-18. They are now on a 6 match winning streak and plan to continue that on Tuesday night at home against Fairfield. 

Girls Tennis Finishes 3rd at GMC Tournament
