Boys Varsity Basketball · BOYS BASKETBALL GOES1-1 IN WEEKEND ACTION

The Hawks took on on the chin last Friday, losing their first GMC contest to Fairfield 60-57. East allowed the Indians to jump out to a 13 point lead early in the game and struggle in the first half to make any headway of catching up. East got outscored 33-19 in the first half of play.

To their credit, the Hawks woke up after the break and made a serious effort to get back in the game. But, the come from behind fell just short in the final ticks of the clock.

Nate Johnson led all scorers with a game-high 30. Kobe Peck was key in the Hawks resurgence, scoring 16, mostly all in the 2nd half.
