Boys Varsity Cross Country · BOYS CROSS COUNTRY 8th AT REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.

The Lakota East men’s team finished their season in Troy by placing a very respectable 8th out of 16 teams in a very strong region.  This is a tremendous accomplishment for a team that did not even qualify for the Regional meet in 2018 or 2019.  They are also returning all but one runner in 2021.

The top Thunderhawk runner for the boys was junior Will Tenoever, who just missed qualifying for State by nine places in his first high school cross country season, by placing 29th overall in a time of 16:56 for the 5k (3.1-mile) course.  The #2 runner for the Hawks was the lone senior on the team, Flynn Prather, who placed 46th overall in 17:08.  Junior, Ashton Gibbs, was the next East runner across the line, placing 61st overall in 17:22.4.

Sophomore Aidan Mahaffey ran 17:22.6 to finish one spot behind Ashton in 62nd place.  Sophomore Marshall Novean placed 66th overall in 17:27.3, and rounding out the top 7 for East was sophomore Andrew Gibson (90th, 18:00) and junior Brandon Moore (113th, 18:40).

Great season Thunderhawk men.  Next year we go to State!
