The Lakota East girls cross country teams ran their final race of the season this past weekend at the Ross Invitational. The girls were led by sophomore Jenna Rugg, who ran a season-best time of 22:58 for the 5k (3.1-mile) course around the Ross High School campus. Jenna placed 16th overall in the 121-girl race. Senior, Julie Bohorfoush, and sophomore Zoey Dunham raced to the finish and finished side by side in 41st and 42ndplace, both with a time of 24:00. Senior, Emma Golembiewski was the next runner across the line for the Thunderhawks in a time of 27:21 for 103rd place. Sophomore, Meredyth Blake placed 107th overall in a time of 27:44. Rounding out the finishers for the Lady Hawks were junior Frankie Stull (109th, 27:56) and sophomore Payton Vordem-Esche (111th, 28:43).

The 2020 GMC CC Championships are slated for Saturday, October 17th at VOA. East girls will be seeking their third consecutive GMC Title.
