Boys Varsity Cross Country · BOYS CROSS COUNTRY 5TH AT ROSS INVITE


The Lakota East boys cross country teams ran their final race of the season this past weekend at the Ross Invitational. The boys were led by sophomore Sean Castillo, who ran a lifetime personal record of 18:23 for the 5k (3.1-mile) course to place 5th overall, out of 116 runners, in the boy’s junior varsity race.  Sophomore teammates Ian Balfour (25th, 19:02) and Austin Boes (27th, 19:05) were the next two Hawks across the line.  Freshman, Will Lewis was the #4 man for East, crossing the line in 19:10 for a 33rd place finish.  Rounding out the top 5 for the Thunderhawk men was sophomore Miles Burkart, who was right behind Lewis in 34th place.  His time was 19:12.  Senior, Shemar Massie nearly ran a personal record in the Boys Open race by placing 20thoverall in a time of 20:52.

The 2020 GMC CC Championships are slated for Saturday, October 17th at VOA.
