This week’s EL CAPORAL, Lakota East Team of the Week is the Thunderhawk Boys Cross Country Team
The 2019 boys cross country season was a rebuilding year for a young Lakota East men’s cross country team. They fell just short of continuing Lakota East’s long streak of appearances at the Regional Championships. This year, however, they are bigger, stronger, more experienced, and hungry to start a new streak of going to Regionals and eyeing the State Championships. Leading the way for the Thunderhawk men will be junior Ashton Gibbs. Ashton got some key experience at the Regional Championships last year as an individual and this year he is fit and ready to be among the best runners in southwest Ohio. Junior Haitham Eid and senior Flynn Prather are set up to lead the charge for remaining scorers for the East men. Following their lead, sophomores Marshall Novean and Aidan Mahaffey appear to be the next two in line to help get this team to the next level this Fall.
East looks forward to the upcoming GMC Championships at VOA on Oct. 17th.
East is coached by Adam Thomas
