East Boys Bball played a pair of games this weekend. On Friday the team visited Colerain and came away with a 45-19 win. East held a 24-10 lead at the half against the outmanned Cardinals. Alex Mangold led East in the low scoring affair with 13 points.


Saturday night the Hawks hosted Mentor in an entertaining and well-played game which East came out on top 74-68. The Hawks Hawks trained early on in this non-conference affair for both teams. By halftime Mentor led by a single point and then the Hawks went to work.

After the break, the Hawks came out firing and led 49-43 going to the fourth. In the final 8 minutes, East outscored Mentor 31-19 to nail down another win.

Junior Nate Johnson poured in 30 in the contest. Alex Mangold and Kaden Fuhrman added 16 and 15, respectively. Mangold had a double-double with 12 rebounds also.

East boys send their record to 16-2 overall and 11-1 in the GMC. They hold a slim one-game lead in the conference over Oak Hills with just four games (all GMC) remaining in the regular season.

Next up, East boys will visit Fairfield on Tuesday.
