This week’s EL CAPORAL, Lakota East Team of the Week is Thunderhawk Swimming and Diving Team
Lakota East Swimming and Diving has competed in several events already this season. They include 2 Tri-Meets, Quad Meet and duals against Princeton, Lasalle, and Mercy-Mcauley.
The swimming and diving team has added a large number of freshmen to the squad of returning leaders. The team returns individual state qualifiers Hannah Cech, Lizzie Jantausch and Tara Witkowski on the girl’s side. It is hoped that new additions and other returning team members will join this group of returning state qualifiers as they look to qualify both individually and on relays to the state championships.
On the boy’s side we are returning individual state qualifiers Adam McDonald and State Champions Jacob McDonald, as well as relay qualifiers Alex Devine and Evan Devine. We are hopeful that we will increase the number of individual qualifiers as well as get relays qualified to the state championships in 2020.
The team has an increase in the number of team members and we are hopeful that the new swimmers and divers will play a key role in helping us improve our GMC placing as well as increasing our state qualifiers.
East is coached by Dennis Beck
