East Softball continued their tear thru the 2019 season winning their programs 9th District Championship on Friday. The Hawks defeated Dayton #1 seed Lebanon 3-0 to move on to Regionals. The Warriors ended East’s season last year in the same game by a score of 6-3.

Senior pitcher Sydney Larson struck out 5 in the win and gave up only 2 hits. Junior outfielder Kylee West made a spectacular catch in center field in the 5th inning to spark the Hawks and led to their offensive production in the 5th inning. Top offensive performers included: Kylee West (1-2, SAC, 1 RBI), Hailey Holtman (1-1, SAC, 1 RBI), Cassidy Hudson (2-3, 1 RBI), and Ali Lewis (2-3).

East record goes to 27-1. The teams only loss this season came at the hands of Lakota West on April 29.

The Hawk ladies will be back at Centerville for a 2 p.m. regional semifinal Wednesday against Greater Miami Conference rival Mason. The GMC champion Thunderhawks topped the Comets 2-1 and 10-4 during the regular season. The winner will play either Lakota West or Harrison on Saturday, May 25th, back at Centerville, 1:00 pm for a Regional Title and trip to the State Final Four!
