The Girls Softball team advanced on Monday winning a Sectional title by defeating Kings 14-4.
East took a 2-0 lead in the second on a 2-run single by Cassidy Hudson. Kings cut the margin to 2-1 but the Hawks responded with 4 runs in the third by taking advantage of several Knight miscues and an Abby Niehaus rbi single. A defensive gem by Regan Butikofer in center field saved two runs and kept the score 6-1 and set the stage for a 6-run rally.
The score became 12-1 in the 4th on an Ali Lewis rbi double, a Cassidy Hudson 2-run single, and a Sydney Larson 2-run homerun. After a 3-run Kings rally, the Hawks closed the game on a walk off 2-run double by Abby Niehaus. Sydney Larson (11-3) picked up the win while striking out five Knights.

Next up for East Softball (19-4) is the District Championship contest versus Milford on Saturday, May 19th at Hamilton. The winner will advance to next weeks Regional semi-final vs. either Lebanon or Fairfield.
Lakota East (20-5) wins over CHCA 6-5 in a non-post season game on Monday. Both teams are still in the playoff hunt. The senior pitchers put the work in for the Hawks. Alex Kerr started the first 2 innings collecting 5 strikeouts. JT Dendler, Dylan Smith, Max Vogelsang, and Mitch Reardon pitched the rest of the game each putting up a strikeout on the stat line.
Jack Willms led the Hawk offense going 2-4. The rest of the offense included Mitchell Vincent (1-1), Devon Milburn (1-2), Dan Sewak (1-3, RBI), and Christian Bodden (1-3, RBI).
The Thunderhawks continue postseason play on Thursday against Loveland at Lebanon High School at 5 pm.
