Thunderhawks News · Horter Breaks Two District Records, Wade Wins Discus!

The Varsity Boys Track team placed 8th of 15 teams at the Districts at Winton Woods on Friday night. After a short rain delay the meet was on. Brian Moriarty (12) had a great night, running to a major personal best time of 4:38.41 in the 1600m. Brian narrowly missed Regional qualification, placing fifth. Zach Wade (12) was able to throw his way to a discus win, becoming the District Champion and paving his way to the Regionals!

Dustin Horter (11) put on a show for all, with a win in the 1600m run and a win in the 3200m run. Horter had a 1600m time of 4:11.59 to narrowly edge out the

former record of 4:11.9, and in the 3200m he clocked an amazing OH #2 season time of 8:58.87, second only to his own 8:56 at Eastern Relays in April. This shattered the former District record of 9:12. Dustin will compete at the Regionals on Friday night.
