Multiple Teams · Girls Basketball Loses to Vikings to End Season

The East Girls 2016-17 Basketball season came to an end on Wednesday night. The team fell in the Sectional to Princeton by a score of 44-38. The game was close till the final quarter when Princeton outscored East 13-7. The Hawks were led by Jordan Stanley’s 9 points. Secret Hughes added 8 points and 8 rebounds.



The Lakota East Girls basketball team played under new leadership this season. First-year coach Gideon Dudgeon’s Hawks finished with a 6-17 overall record and 6-10 in the GMC (7th place). All of East’s 6 wins came in one of the toughest leagues in the state. With a young group of players, that now have valuable playing experience, the girls program looks forward to next season with high hopes.
