Multiple Teams · Steve Castner Inducted to OHSFCA Hall of Fame


Steve Castner, head softball coach of Lakota East was the 67th inductee into the OHSFCA (Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association) Hall of Fame at the Hall of Fame awards banquet this weekend in Columbus, OH.

Coach Castner was previously the coach at Lakota High School from 1990-1997 and has coached Lakota East since the split in 1998. He is in his 25th year as a head coach with a record of 411-208. He has won 4 league championships, 15 sectional championships, 9 District championships, and 1 Regional Championship (2010). He is currently a physical education teacher for Lakota.

At the ceremony, Steve’s brother Keith, the head coach at Lakota West, introduced him for the award. He is pictured with his 4 brothers from left to right – Gary Castner (Lakota teacher and Hopewell Jr High Basketball Coach), Keith Castner (Lakota West Softball Head Coach), Steve in the middle, Brian Castner (former Mason softball coach now Head Football coach at Mason), and Dan Castner (Assistant Varsity Softball Coach at Lakota East).
