Girls Lacrosse Defeats Elks in State Tournament

The Lakota East High School Women’s Lacrosse team won their 1st game of the OHSAA Girls Lacrosse Tournament over the Centerville Lady Elks on Monday, May 15th, 2017 by a score of 11-7. 

 Players who scored:   Senior Emily Polivick (3), Junior Danielle Leaym (3), Senior Captain Amber Herzog (1), Sophomore Chloe Heard (1) and Sophomore Emily Willms (1).

Assists: Senior Captain Corrin Urmie (2)

Draw Controls:  Junior Danielle Leaym (5), Sophomore Emily Willms (5), and Senior Captain Corrin Urmie (1).

Defensive contributions:

Ground Balls: Senior Marissa Lombardi (5), Sophomore Emily Willms (5),  Junior Katie Bryson (4), and Junior Danielle Leaym (4).

Forced Turnovers:  Senior Marissa Lombardi (3), Junior Katie Bryson (1), Junior Danielle Leaym (1), Sophomore Makenna Henderson (1),  Sophomore Kelli Heusinkveld (1), Sophomore Katie O’Brien (1), and Sophomore Emily Willms (1).

Senior Goalie Roshini Susarla posted 12 saves for the Thunderhawks.

 The Thunderhawks move on to the 2nd round in the OHSAA Girls Lacrosse Tournament when they visit the Sycamore Aviators! Game will be held Friday, May 19th (Time: TBD). Go Thunderhawks!
