Softball Season Comes to an End

Lakota East Girls Softball season came to a disappointing end on Monday in the Sectional Final vs. Springboro, losing 8-6 and ending their 2017 season.  After falling behind 2-0, the Hawks rallied to tie the score with 2 unearned runs in the 4th and scored four in the 5th to take a 6-2 lead.  Rachel Lewis’ homer and Madison Beckham’s double keyed the rally.  Springboro erased the deficit with a run in the 6th and 5 runs in the 7th to take an 8-6 lead.  East was able to bring the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh but could not erase the deficit.  Sydney Larson (13-4) picked up the loss while striking out 5 Panthers.  The Hawks close their season at 24-5.   Batting leaders: Rachel Lewis, 3-4, 2B, HR, rbi; Madison Beckham, 2B;
