Girls Soccer Suffers Close Loss to Olentangy

Varsity Girls Soccer

Lakota East Women’s Soccer Team hosted Olentangy Liberty on Homecoming weekend and came away with losses in both games.  JV lost 0-2 to an impressive Olentangy Liberty squad.  The varsity squad surrendered the lone goal of its game at the 1:15 mark and dropped the match 0-1.  Both sides had multiple chances to score, but failed to convert the remainder of the match.

The Lakota East program honored Olentangy Liberty coach and former Thunderhawk standout Hillary Carter at halftime.  Hillary graduated from East in 2004 and went on to play at Earlham College, where she graduated as their leading scorer.  Hillary was an all-Ohio player while at East and continues to give back to the game she loves.  Hillary was a teammate of current Lakota East coaches, Emily Kessler (Miller) and Lorrin Patrick (Bertsch).

The Hawks (3-6-1) (2-2-0) return to action at the Hawks Nest on Tuesday versus GMC rival Colerain.  JV kicks off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Varsity match at 7:15 p.m.
